Beautiful Rags Microterry® Towels require specific care to achieve optimum performance. As soon as you unbox your towels, we recommend you wash and dry them at least once. They are strong enough to handle commercial-grade extractors. If you use soap make sure it's a liquid, as powdered soaps can get trapped in the fibers and lead to streaking. This style of towel performs its best when slightly damp, so a full drying cycle may not be necessary.
In the unlikely event that you're having difficulty breaking in your towels, the culprit may be water quality. The mineral level in water can vary greatly by location. In some cases this may prevent maximum absorption. If this seems to be the case, add 1 cup of distilled white vinegar to your next wash cycle (no soap this time). This will cause a mild chemical reaction to break down the tips of the fibers and make them much more absorbent. Be sure not to do this more than once or twice in a towel's life cycle, as it could ultimately render them rougher than preferred.
If you use microfiber at your facility, be sure to wash them separately from cotton towels. They just don't get along.
